The Expert Group on Refugee and Internally Displaced Persons Statistics (EGRIS) was established in response to growing numbers of forcibly displaced persons worldwide and persistent challenges in producing statistics. It has received a mandate from the United Nations Statistical Commission and has developed International Recommendations for Refugee Statistics (IRRS). It is currently composed of 45 country members and 24 international and regional organisations, including PARIS21. The Secretariat was asked to co-lead in a phase of the Compiler’s Manual to be submitted to UNSC for approval at the 51st Session of UNSC in March 2020.
