PARIS21, in collaboration with Senegal’s Agence Nationale de Statistique et de la Démographie (ANSD), recently organised a joint workshop on PARIS21’s Advanced Data Planning Tool (ADAPT) and gender statistics project in Dakar, Senegal.

During the hands-on ADAPT training, representatives from ANSD were introduced to the ADAPT tool, and shown how to incorporate the tool into the NSDS lifecycle and leverage it to make data planning more efficient.

The gender statistics workshop brought together producers and users of gender statistics in Senegal discuss the integration of the gender dimension into the country’s third National Strategy for the Development of Statistics (NSDS). It also provided an opportunity to promote cooperation and establish a current snapshot of the state of gender statistics in the country from the perspective of producers and users, including civil society organizations and the academia. The workshop was attended by around 40 participants from ANSD, Ministère de la Femme, de la Famille, du Genre et de la Protection des Enfants, UN Women, other ministries, civil society organizations, and academia.
