New Project Launch

PARIS21 participated in the launch of the UNSD-DfID Project on SDG monitoring. The 5-day workshop held in Addis Ababa from May 15-19 included two NSO staff from 10 countries. The countries represented were: Burundi, Ethiopia, Ghana, Liberia, Mozambique, Rwanda, Tanzania, Uganda, Zambia, Zimbabwe.

The UNSD project will span 5 years and will work with National Statistical Offices to improve the reporting of SDGs. The main objectives of the project are:

  • Help countries adopt and implement SDG monitoring strategies
  • Help countries develop online SDG repositories that emphasise data and metadata exchange
  • Improve co-ordination of the NSS
  • Focus on user engagement
  • Increase the understanding and reconciliation between national and international SDG indicators

PARIS21 was invited to introduce its new Advanced Data Planning Tool (ADAPT). The tool will be used by  countries to help in the SDG assessment process and mainstream the statistical development into national monitoring processes. PARIS21 will partner with UNSD in the integration of ADAPT.
